style diaries

Style Diaries by Simon Werle is one of those books that every fashion blogger dreams about being featured in one day! I've wanted this book for so so long but I couldn't find it anywhere apart from the Urban Outfitters website and as we don't have that shop in the North East it would have meant ordering it from there and paying p&p, which I begrudge so much. None of my libraries, bookshops or anywhere had it and then finally I found it on Amazon at a discounted price of £10.00 and free postage too. They said that it wouldn't be here until after Christmas with busy post and things but it actually arrived yesterday with a few other Amazon bargains, two Twilight dvds and another book which i'm going to do a review on soon.

In all honesty, I am slightly dissapointed. I think I built it up in my head to be this amazing book full of down to earth real bloggers but in actual fact, it isn't. It reminds me of the Loobook website but in a book form. All of the bloggers have gorgeous style and they look amazing but they arn't 'real'. Most of the outfits they're wearing arn't the sort of things which most of us wear on a day-to-day basis. There is a few such as Kayla Hadlington (whose blog I love) that buy their clothes on the high street or in charity shops but there's few of those bloggers in the book. I think if was more about the less professional bloggers it would be much much better! I haven't read it all yet but from reading the first few and flicking through the rest it has that clear Lookbook look. This might sound stupid but i'd prefer more English bloggers in there. Overall it is worth buying (at the Amazon price anyway) but don't expect it to be something it isn't like I did. It's definitley a good book, just not as good as it could be.
