interview: vipxo

I wasn't actually planning on posting anything today but then i had an idea that i wanted to include an interview in my blog. I know I always love reading them! I recently discovered www.vipxo.blogspot.com, it's such a lovely read. If you arn't already following Victoria then please do so. Admittedly I don't have a lot of followers which is why I expected her to say no to doing an interview but luckily she agreed. I didn't want to make the interview too long so I kept it to some short but sweet questions.

So then, what made you decide to start to blogging?
I had to start a mini one for a uni project last year, it wasn't anything special but it gave me the idea to carry on. At the time i lived with 4 other girls and it wasn't exactly the best time. In a way it was a nice place to escape too and get to know other girls with the same interests.

What do you believe is the secret to having a successful blog?
I don't think there is one, originality is obviously key. Copy cat blogs are just boring, and I usually don’t bother reading them. Making the effort to talk to people and reply is also really important.

Whets your favourite high street shop and why?
Primark! It gets so much stick but at the end of the day it's affordable. I don't spent a lot of clothes, i just recycle what i have. Doing fashion design and production at uni does help me jazz up things i already have without spending a fortune.

What is going to be your most worn piece of clothing this autumn/winter?
Deff my knit jumpers! I brought 4 last week, all different colours. So they’ll go with everything! Im planning to wear them with different coloured tights and a chunky scarf.

Who is your fashion inspiration?
I don’t really have one, everyone has such a unique look that dressing the same as someone else would be pointless. I know what looks good on me and what doesn’t. Well I think so anyway!

Do you tend to take fashion advice and ideas from magazines?
Not really .I take fashion advice more from my friends.

What’s your opinion on designer clothing?
I think it’s ridiculous. At the end of the day it’s made just the same as highstreet stuff. Granted the fabrics would be more expensive (sometimes) but you’re paying for the name. However, designer accessories im a slave to.
Which is probably a whole contradiction in its self. I love Vivienne Westwood.

What is one fashion item that you would never wear?
I don’t really get the whole boob tube as a top look, I think It makes you look like something you’re probably not. Covering up is much classier than having it all on show.

What’s your opinion on thrifting/charity shop finds, do you have any favourite vintage finds?
They’re my favourite kind of places to go! You find absolute bargins in there at such a great price. I recently bought a a dogtooth blazer for £5! I love it! A lot of charity shops are getting more expensive now, but at least it’s all for a good cause.

Who is your favourite blogger and why?
http://mariannann.blogspot.com/ is my all time favourite!
Her photos are just amazing and the first time I found her blog I read all the way to the start. She has 3855 followers so im clearly not the only one who loves her style.

My favourite at the moment though is http://blarglefargle.blogspot.com/ I love the layout of the blog and it’s so beautifully written. She’s got a lovely individual style.

Thankyou for your time Victoria.
