jack wills

I've been meaning to do a post on this for a while but never actually got round to it. Jack Wills started as a brand that only 'preppy' 'rich' people wore and slowly changed to something normal people could have. It wasn't a brand at first which everyone was able to afford or that everyone knew about. I used to look through my handbook or on the website and want everything, obviously I couldn't afford a £300 dress but I used to get a few of their things for presents. I want to make it clear that I never thought of myself as some sort of rich preppy girl when I got these things, I simply liked the clothing. The pyjama bottoms are so comfy but nowhere near the £49 price tag. I regret ever setting foot in that shop though, so much money has been wasted on their things. The clothing is just average quality, heavily labelled, overpriced things. The t-shirts and hoodies are printed with bold writing to let everyone know your wearing Jack Wills, it's pathetic. They sell a tweed blazer which is £229 whereas theres an idential one in zara for less than £50. Their £398 dresses are the biggest rip off though and in fairness are they really that nice? I think it lost the reputation that it used to have and is now clothing that is popular amongst even 'chavvy' people. I don't want this to be some sort of rant about Jack Wills (admittedly it's sort of turned into that) but I just wanted to try and show anyone who is still buying their things thats it's nothing more than a rip-off. I'm more than interested in hearing anyone elses oppinion on the brand, even if its different to mine, I love reading comments from all you lovely people! If anyone would like to buy any of the clothes in the photograph (2 hooides, t-shirt, pj bottoms) then let me know, I'd be more than happy to sell them.

I feel exactly the same way! At first I jumped on the bandwagon and got a hoodie for my birthday, but even then it was in the sale. I only have about 2 or 3 things from there, but I have never bought anything full price. I now hate the shop and doubt i will buy anything from there again. Even just walking in the shop I feel like I'm not good enough to be in there. I also hate when you see 12 year old girls walking round head to toe in Jack Wills clothes. They think they can be fashionable just because they are wearing a brand that is seen as 'cool', and if they are seen wearing something from there, it makes them feel the are better than everyone else who can't afford to spend £30 on a t-shirt!!

Sorry for my rant, but there are a lot of people like this at my school and it drives me mad! xxx

I feared i'd be the only one with this oppinion when i posted this but im so pleased people are also having little rants like yourself about it. Half of the people only wear the brand to look 'cool', they don't even like the clothes. thankyou for sharing your oppinion, i love hearing from readers. xxx

To be honest I don't like their things, I wouldn't buy a hoodie or t-shirt just for the brand name and nothing else, I have to like the style.

I hate it, I did the same thing at 12/13 though! On the other hand my sister loves it and she'd go mad for a hoodie as we normally can't afford - how much were you considering selling the hoodies for? Let me know please! :)
