mini elf haul/review

I've been wanting to try out some Elf products for absoloultey ages now but i've always put it off for some reason so when I saw the 20% off everything code I knew i'd be ordering straight away. If i'm honest, it wasn't a company i'd ever even heard of until I started blogging and watching youtubing videos. Everyone seems to have nothing but positive comments to say about the brand 90% of the time though, which for the price is amazing.

I didn't order too much, just three items that i'd had my eye on for a while. The flat top powder brush is literally everywhere over youtube/blogs and I can definitely see why. Although I don't like using it for liquid foundation like i've seen some people do it is really good for powder and even contouring actually. Very dense brush and so so soft! For £3.50 it's without doubt something i'd reccomend purchasing even if it's just to buff your foundation in when it's applied for a lovely finish. 
I'm slightly annoyed with myself over the lipstick (nicely nymph) as I knew it would be like this before I even received it (well I suspected it would be). I didn't want it to look like concealer on my lips or anything (a phase that i'm ashamed to say I went through and will never ever re-visit, oh the embarrassment) and hoped it would be a nice pinky nude. I dunno, I mean on my arm in the photo is does look quite pinky but on the lips it's a little weird looking with the pink being so so light. I'm not too keen on it on it's own however I do like it with a lipgloss over the top. The actual lipstick itself though in terms of the consistency and texture is really good, I would buy another just in a nicer shade obviously.

Elf Mist & Set was in my mind the cheaper alternative to MAC Fix+, definitely isn't. Claims to set your makeup and keep it on all day but it made absoloutley no difference to mine. I've only used it for about 4 days so if my oppinion changes i'll let you know. It is refreshing although I imagine spraying water on my face would have the same effect. I'm sure this could work amazingly on some people but for me it has no effect at all.
